I was walking through the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park & Preserve and I’ve noticed when walking on trails in general that finding contrasts in nature can be quite difficult. In the fall and winter, you see seas of brown from fallen leaves and branches. Then in the spring and summer, it’s fields of green. Here I spotted a few leaves newly growing out of the sides of an oak or cypress tree. What drew me to this image was the way the light falls on the leaves which helps draw the subject out from the background.
