Different kinds of plants and fungi appear each time I go out for a walk. This one called Turkey Tail or Trametes versicolor has fitting name given the Thanksgiving week coming up. Its repeating patterns seem benign, but after a minute of staring there's something almost disturbing about it. It could be a bit of trypophobia though most mushrooms I see in the wild spark a twinge of fear. Trametes are harmless however leathery if you chew them. Some cultures even use them in tea. For me, they offer another opportunity to learn about my surroundings and clear my head of misconceptions.
